The Edwardian style is based on a square or rectangular shape to maximise floor space. The roof pitch from three sides slopes back to a centre ridge to give a stylish open feel to the room. Edwardian style conservatories can have an incorporated aluminium box gutter section fixed to an existing wall or roof line to enable the conservatory roof to fall from a ridgeline and back towards the original house.
The box gutter will efficiently discharge any rainwater safely away the property. This is of particular use where a lean to style conservatory may be restricted due to insufficient height against an existing house wall or for example a bungalow with a low roof line.
It enables conservatories to have an extensive projection from the house and also reduces the need for shaped frames to fill in open pitched sides of new conservatories.
